Trip Overview
A Ladakh Trip on the Delhi–Manali–Leh–Srinagar route begins with an overnight journey from Delhi to Manali. Surrounded by the Himalayas, Manali is known for its pleasant weather, pine forests, rivers, and mountain views. It serves as the gateway to the famous Leh–Manali Highway, one of the highest and most scenic roads in India.
From Manali, the journey continues through spectacular landscapes, crossing high mountain passes such as Rohtang Pass (or the Atal Tunnel route depending on road conditions), Baralacha La, Lachulung La, Nakee La, and Tanglang La before reaching Leh. Along the way, travellers pass through places like Jispa, Sarchu, Pang, and the More Plains, making the road trip itself one of the biggest highlights of the journey.
After reaching Leh, travellers usually spend a day acclimatising before exploring the town's famous attractions, including Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa, Leh Market, Magnetic Hill, the Sangam of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers, and nearby monasteries. Depending on the itinerary, many Leh Ladakh Trip Packages also include visits to Nubra Valley, Pangong Lake, and Khardung La Pass.
The return journey follows the Srinagar–Leh Highway, passing through Lamayuru, Kargil, Drass, Zoji La Pass, and Sonamarg before reaching Srinagar. This route offers a completely different landscape, with green valleys, rivers, and beautiful mountain scenery.
The Leh Ladakh (Delhi–Manali–Leh–Srinagar) route is one of the most complete Ladakh Trip itineraries because it allows travellers to experience the beauty of Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh, and Kashmir in a single journey while covering both famous Himalayan highways.
